Prashanth C, the founder of Bringin, has been an instrumental figure in the Bitcoin space. His journey with Bitcoin began in 2019 after being inspired by the book “Mastering Bitcoin”. He left his job in Bangalore to work at Lastbit (now Striga), which developed Europe’s first consumer Lightning/Fiat interface.

Prashanth’s hands-on experience with Bitcoin and Lightning laid the foundation for his future endeavors. This exposure, combined with regulatory challenges in Europe, shaped his mission to create a seamless interface between Bitcoin and traditional banking, leading to the establishment of Bringin.

Bridging Bitcoin and Euros

Bridging Bitcoin and Euros

Today, maintaining Bitcoin in your wallet can be advantageous, especially with the current market price. However, many users struggle to off-ramp or spend their profits as numerous banks and fintech companies are not crypto-friendly.

Built on top of Striga’s payment infrastructure for crypto-banking applications, Bringin provides a compliant interface for users wishing to offramp Bitcoin to Euros, tackling the critical challenge of banking hesitance towards Bitcoin transactions by ensuring that all fiat money is processed separately through the use of unique virtual IBAN accounts.

With dedicated IBAN accounts for each user and support for lightning and SEPA instant transfers, Bringin ensures that exchanges are instant and reliable with little to no custody exposure. For first timers especially, dipping their feet into the Bitcoin pool just became a whole lot easier.

With the recent launch of their MVP, Bringin has grown to become well known in the Bitcoin space for Europeans particularly and continues to move in a positive direction.

Striga’s infrastructure is a key part of Bringin’s platform. Being the backbone provider of bitcoin custody, trading, banking, and Lightning APIs, Striga ensures that Bringin operates within regulatory compliance while maintaining the same security standards that Striga itself is subject to as a “MiCA-like” licensed entity.

With the upcoming “Markets in Crypto Assets” (MiCA) legislation, the playing field for practically any application that is not a non-custodial wallet changes drastically introducing massive requirements for consumer protection, safeguarding funds, audits etc. that could well easily cost over a few million Euros and a few years of Prashanth’s time just to remain compliant. By leveraging Striga, he’s left the heavy lifting of the “boring work” to Striga and can focus on building a host of new products and use cases for the Bitcoin community with Bringin.
